UPDATED INFORMATION ON OUR MASK POLICY:

As most of you know, on July 2nd, the leadership at Grove City Alliance Church made the decision to temporarily pause the re-opening of the building.  This decision was made to allow the church leadership time to prayerfully and carefully consider how to safely resume in-person services in light of the Department of Health’s new order issued on July 1st and more up-to-date information on the manner in which the COVID-19 virus is able to spread. We know that the pandemic has been difficult, in different ways, for every member of our congregation. Several members of our congregation have been hospitalized with the virus, others are hurting physically, financially, or spiritually, and it is our deepest desire to resume regular, in-person services with you as soon as possible, and we are considering how to best do that over the long-term.

Our guiding principle has been and will continue to be “love your neighbor as yourself.”  (Matthew 22:39)  In that we are called to care for one another, particularly the sick and vulnerable, the leadership team, with the encouragement of our denominational leadership, has determined on the basis of evidence and advice that it is safe to resume in-person services, provided that masks are required during services in order to keep people as safe as possible.  We have decided that the guidance provided in the Department of Health’s recent order is sufficient for our purposes and masks are required unless you are speaking/singing on stage while physically distanced, have a medical exception, or are outdoors while physically distanced. We know that wearing a mask can be uncomfortable, but believe that the opportunity to worship together in our church building with as safe an atmosphere as we can provide is worth the temporary inconvenience.  We are excited to resume our building re-opening and are thankful for the patience, support and love that our congregation has shown as we navigate uncharted territory.  Extra masks will be available in the entryway for those who do not have one or forget theirs at home.  We will also continue to offer online church for those who are unable to return to the building at this time.

While enhanced safety precautions and preventative measures are being taken, Grove City Alliance Church cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to or become infected by COVID-19 by virtue of being on our campus.  An inherit risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.

Here is our mask requirement:  We have decided that the Department of Health’s recent order is sufficient for our purposes and masks are required unless you are speaking/singing on stage while physically distanced, have a medical exception, are under two years of age, are unable to remove a mask without assistance and are not required for individuals who are communicating or seeking to communicate with someone who is hearing-impaired or has another disability, where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication. We will not request documentation for these exceptions and will assume if an individual is not masked that they meet the above exceptions.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU SOON!

How you can help?

  • If you have health concerns, or if you or a family member don’t feel well, please stay home and worship with us online.
  • Masks for guests are required.
  • Maintain a distance of six feet between yourself and others.
  • Wash your hands often.
  • If you want to fellowship with others, please do so outdoors, to help with safe transitions between services.  This will also allow us to sanitize the building before the next service begins.
  • Volunteer to help with one of our greeting, usher, or cleaning teams.
  • Be flexible and show grace toward one another.

Kids and Students

Nursery, preschool and elementary programming will not be available during the worship services. The Family Ministry department will continue providing a Church at Home experience each week for families to use with their kids.

Students (5th-12th grades) will continue their Thursday evening Livestream and will meet online for weekly activities and family events.

We will be developing a plan for resuming our weekend ministries for Kids and Students in the future.  Please be patient with us while this is carefully thought through.  We truly do miss our kids and students!  Please keep your eye out for more details about this as those plans are developed.  Until then, we          encourage you to continue engaging with our online resources.

If you are able, we are encouraging families to worship together in our live services.
