Are you hungry to encounter Jesus?
In Luke 11, Martha is “distracted by all the preparations” of serving the Lord and she is upset that no one seems to be giving a hand. She specifically calls out her sister, Mary, for not doing her part and asking for Him to instruct her to participate in knocking out the things to do.
Jesus responds, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and that will not be taken away from her,” (Luke 11:41-42).
We all know that spending time with Jesus is the most important thing, the most rewarding thing, the most fulfilling thing, and the most lasting thing … and yet, how often do we allow the preparations of all sorts of things distract us and get us worried and upset and buzzing around. Could it be that we need to make the choice to sit at the Master’s feet and take in all that He has for us? Below our several events that are being planned for that purpose.
